Kitchen Renovation - Before and After

Our kitchen renovation is complete, except for a few finishing touches.  The contractors will come back for one more day to install the last cabinets (which had to be reordered because the space was slightly too tight for what we had ordered), finish the backsplash around those cabinets, put on the hardware, and finish some touch-up painting.  We were able to move back into the kitchen and I even cooked a full meal this weekend!

And here is a good picture of the amazing change in our floors!

So much better!  We're still trying to figure out why anyone would cover these beautiful wood floors with faux-brick linoleum!

  1. My only explanation is that (at least with the wood floors we had growing up) you have to be much more careful to not leave spilled water on the floor with wood, wheras slops on linoleum don't matter. My recollection is that if we dropped water on the floor, we had to immediately wipe it up, but that may have had to do with the finish? Have you asked Brandon about caring for the floors? But, regardless, you could just get a gel mat for by the sink/dishwasher (which, I must say, I don't know how I lived without) and let the beautiful wood be everywhere else? It is stunning...so fun to see the before and after shots!
